Medically monitored, community-based residential alternatives to hospitalization that provide short-term crisis stabilization programs including psychiatric crisis stabilization and detoxification for adults and children and adolescents. The CSU provides emergency receiving, screening and evaluation services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and has the ability to admit and discharge seven days a week. Psychiatric stabilization and residential detoxification services are offered at a clinical intensity level which supports the level of care required by the provider agreement or contract with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD).
